Abdominal Workout - Tone & Stengthen
Well after this festive period, its time to cut out the bad food and get back to a normal diet. The way to help you feel fresh and ready to go for the new year is getting back into a regular exercise routine and I have a few core exercises to help you build up your whole workout.
Movement 1. Side Balance Crunch
Begin with your left knee and left hand on the floor with your right arm straight up in the air (no bent elbows) Extend your right leg so your body is aligned. Pull right knee inwards towards your torso and bring your right elbow toward your knee. Straighten your arm and leg.
Repetitions: 10 (minimum) on each side - repeat twice during workout
Movement 2. Russian Twists
Sit with good posture, knees bent in front holding a weighted ball or dumbbell by your chest in both hands. Begin to move your arms from your ride hip to the left with your feet slightly lifted above the ground.
Repetitions: 15 (minimum) - repeat twice during workout
Movement 3. Lateral Pillar Bridge
Start by lying on your side with your forearm resting on the ground directly under your shoulder. Keep your body aligned pushing your hip off of the ground to stop a dip in your position.
Hold the position for 1 minute - repeating this twice throughout your workout.
Movement 4. In and Out Abs
Laying on your back with arms rested by your sides. begin to lift your legs into a 90 degree angle, when lowering your legs back down ensure they do not touch the floor to gain the best result from this exercise. while raising your legs, also raise your back and head up to a 45 degree angle ensuring your neck and spine is aligned to prevent any risk of strain or injury.
Repetitions: 15 repeated 3 times throughout your workout.
I hope some of these exercises help to build up your perfect workout for the New Year.
